Two years ago, Rental Tracker developed an app for the installation form, and a new version of the app has now been released. We have created this handy tool especially for our customers to make the administrative side of the installation process even easier and quicker.

The app is available to download from the Google Play Store or App Store on your mobile. Using the app, you can quickly and easily keep an accurate and reliable record of your installation work, which you can refer back to later! The installation app prompts you, step by step, to enter basic information about the installation, which you need to fill in one by one. If you forget any necessary details, the app will remind you.
What makes this app unique is that you must also upload a photo alongside the most essential basic details. All this information is automatically sent as a PDF file to your email address and/or to the email addresses of your administrators. Using this information, you can easily locate the vehicle in question later on, and check who installed the tracker, when and where.

The compact version versus the extended version

In the app, you can choose between two versions: the compact version and the extended version.
You should use the compact version when you want to choose the quickest option; it is particularly suitable for your own vehicle fleet. In the compact installation form, you enter basic information such as: make, model, registration number (or reporting code), the vehicle’s mileage and the location within the vehicle.
It stands to reason that the extended version requires more data to be requested and entered. This version is particularly suitable if, in addition to the basic details, you require more comprehensive installation records. This is because you will also need to enter details such as: the fitting company, the fitter’s name, the customer’s company name and whether or not an immobiliser is fitted.

All our trackers are fitted with their own high-quality QR code scanner, which can be easily scanned using your mobile phone’s camera. The vehicle’s I-MEI number is added in this way to both forms. Next, add a photo of the QR code. As a final step, add photos of the vehicle’s registration number or identification code and the location where the tracker is fitted.

The benefits of the new version of the app

Compared with our old installation form, the new installation form offers a number of practical advantages:

It’s even simpler and quicker;
It works on more devices (Apple & Android, mobile & tablet);
It can even be used offline (e.g. in a location where there is no network);
In this case, it is stored temporarily;
It can still be sent later (once you’re back online);
No installation data is left on the mobile phone or tablet (secure);

In short: you can carry out installations anytime, anywhere, whilst at the same time recording all the necessary information securely and reliably in your installation records!
